About Us
In July 1977, the organization Keep East Point Beautiful (KEPB), formerly known as East Point Clean Community System, Inc was officially created by City Council at its July meeting. Keep East Point Beautiful changed their name when the national organization Keep America Beautiful(KAB)asked that affiliates do so to align themselves nationally.
Members of a task force lead by Mr. Jake Cooper attended a Keep America Beautiful training class. The group brought back detailed information, shared it with the council and the program was approved to begin its task. Mr. Cooper served as KEPB’s first Chairman of the organization.
Guiding Principles
As a leader in community improvement Keep East Point Beautiful is guided by these (4) principles:
- Education: This is the key to encouraging positive behaviors toward community improvement
- Individual Responsibility: Improving community environments and quality of life all begins with personal responsibility – individuals becoming more engaged as citizens and stewards of the environment.
- Public-Private Partnerships: Broad-based community alliances are essential to achieve sustainable community improvement.
- Volunteer Action: By engaging volunteers we extend the reach of our education and multiply the impact of our actions.
